Michael J. Lorenzen

Michael J. Lorenzen was first introduced to the world of investments by a trip to visit his great aunt in Denver, Co.  They handed him a Wall Street Journal with the directive to read it and learn.  While attending Oklahoma State University, Michael also worked as an engineer in the Ponca City switch yard.  In his downtime, he studied the markets with the help of a fellow crew member.  Further courses at OSU peaked his interest in cattle trading.  After graduating Michael took a position with Iowa Beef Processors.  A neighbor who lived a few houses down actively traded his own accounts and introduced Michael to the brokerage side of the business with AG Edwards & Sons.  From that point, Michael held various positions but his interest was peaked in asset management.  In 2004 Michael and his son Chris founded LIG Capital Management with the emphasis on managing downside risk for client accounts.
